About us

Founded in 1995 as “Graffitiagentur Jörn Stiller” by Jörn Stiller and Markus Christl, the small company devoted itself primarily to the implementation of interior and exterior spraying assignments and to the distribution of individually illustrated marketing media, specifically aimed at the young target group of banks. From 1998 onwards, professional banker Jörn Stiller and professional technical draughtsman and still-active writer Markus KRIXL Christl started attending to the affairs of the company on a full-time basis. Since 1999 the internationally renowned graffiti magazine STYLEFILE has been published every four months. With this, the areas of expertise expanded. In 2000, shortly after we had started publishing books on topics related to graffiti together with other authors belonging to the scene, we decided to change the company’s name to Publikat Verlags- und Handels KG. Our motivation for continually implementing new projects are successes such as publishing “STYLEFILE.BLACKBOOK.SESSIONS” and “THE ART OF REBELLION”, which became highly regarded in Europe as well as America and Asia.
With the appearance of the first edition of the STYLEFILE magazine, we also started providing accessories, books and fashion for the scene. This, together with the two founders’ passion for sneakers, was to bring about the voluminous STYLEFILE online shop, which now boasts supplying more than 200 000 customers. Mail orders are by now the main pillar of the company. Currently, Publikat GmbH & Co. KG has more than 50 permanent employees, including a number of trainees and apprentices.
